Orange-derived and lemon-derived adsorbents with controlled grain for an efficient elimination of some cationic and anionic dyes

Purpose This study aims to demonstrate that orange-derived and lemon-derived systems can be used in continuous processes as efficient adsorbents the entrapment of some anionic cationic dyes textile dyeing wastewater effluents. Design/methodology/approach Physically chemically modified orange lemon mesocarps are natural for Basic Blue 3, Yellow 21, Red 18 Green 4 Acid 264, 49 337, all commonly industry. Adsorption capacities on studied simulating a batch industrial processes. Findings Results treated mesocarp (orange-derived adsorbent) adsorb up 97% 30 min, whereas (lemon-derived retain 88% within same time. In case anionic, 91% 264 is adsorbed by 15 92% homologue Originality/value As far authors know, physically have not been removal (Basic 4) anioinic (Acid 337) It costless treatment supposes, one hand, an eco-friendly feasible process discolouration and, other, valorisation (upcycling) peels, which currently used.
